Please Help! I'm looking for a trial/anecdote regarding same sex marriages for my essay.?

It goes something like this.Two women travel to a state where their marriage was not recognized. One of the women gets into a car accident and goes into a vegetable state. Unable to go to the emergency room or have any say in what happens to woman A, her spouse is standing my helplessly. Her family decides to send her to a nursing home because “there is no one to take care of her.” The family decides to put a restraining order, even thought the women B might know what is in the best interest of her wife and knows what the wife wants.
