Why does my cat act like a dog?

Ok, He's a 4 year old black medium hair who intimidates my 13 year old big yellow lab. He enjoys the dog's bed while the dog helplessly looks on with a worried look on her face! LOL Also when I give my dog treats, he runs up in front of the dog and stands on his hind legs sitting with his paws in a prayer position and meows until he gets a treat. He's the first to invade the dog food, and will come running when called.I live in a superstitious neighborhood LOL and I hear stuff like, "It's a witch, he's evil, he's the devil" -That sort of thing. I'm curious to hear any responses LOL
