Why are Puma and Adidas shoes always so narrow?

Not EVERYONE has narrow feet, and compared to other brands, Puma and Adidas shoes run on the narrower side of the spectrum. Wouldn't it make sense for them to make shoes of wider widths to appeal to more customers? Wider shoes would not sacrifice their fashion/style themes, given the right designs.
